Job Description:

The duties of the Truck Driver as determined by SunEnergy1 standards are to include, but are not limited to: -- Responsible for transporting cargo from one place to another using tractor-trailer trucks or other company owned vehicles as needed -- Operate trucks with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds gross vehicle weight -- Deliver cargo while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over intercity routes, intrastate -- Load and unload cargo -- Keep truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order -- Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel -- Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road -- Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion -- Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking; get cargo to site on time, safely -- Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs -- Follow all applicable traffic laws -- Perform pre-trip inspections and record any defects found -- Keep a daily log of activities -- Record amount and type of cargo being delivered -- Transport hazardous materials WORK REQUIREMENTS: -- Valid CDL Class-A license required -- Minimum of 3 years of experience driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle -- Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred -- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations -- Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations -- No recent moving or driving violations -- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly -- Ability to multi-task -- Strong written and verbal communication skills -- Must be able to relate to people -- Must have the ability to work individually or as a team -- Must be self-motivated -- Must be well organized and detail oriented Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 5 - 10 years Bonus/Commission: No
